Tammy and I wanted a bona fide web2 skin to kick off phpbb3 going tableless, and it's coming along. For vBulletin, who are still intent on using tables, it will not be a tableless skin but the framework will be.

So, what makes it Web 2.0? Everything will be built user centric. Posting buttons and popular links will be larger and more apparent. Elements will be clean and fast xHTML and CSS. All high traffic elements will be given graphical prominence. Fonts will be more scalable and larger and crisper across the board. Edges and colors will be soft and contrast well. In short, we want to build a forum design that will seduce users into contributing more and more forum content, thus making the forum itself a success.

When will it be available? Probably not for a long time. Development will be slow. There will be a hundred mile stones, each checked against w3c compliance and cross-browser compatibility.

Also, we have a new skin being released soon, a very crisp and bright design. It's very imminent so no teasers... you'll just have to see it when it gets here.
